Eigenvalue of boundary value problem for nonlinear singular third-order q-difference equations

In this paper, we establish the existence of positive solutions of a boundary value problem for nonlinear singular third-order q-difference equations Dqu(t) + λa(t)f (u(t)) = 0, t ∈ Iq, u(0) = 0, Dqu(0) = 0, αDqu(1) + βDqu(1) = 0, by using Krasnoselskii’s fixed-point theorem on a cone, where λ is a positive parameter. Finally, we give an example to demonstrate the use of the main result of this...

On a class of third-order nonlinear difference equations

This paper studies the boundedness character of the positive solutions of the difference equation x(n+1) = A + x(n)^p/(x(n-1)^q*x(n-2)^r), no, where the parameters A, p, q and r are positive numbers.

Oscillation Criteria of Third Order Nonlinear Neutral Difference Equations

In this paper we consider the third order nonlinear neutral difference equation of the form ∆(rn(∆(xn ± pnxσ(n)))) + f (n, xτ(n)) = 0, we establish some sufficient conditions which ensure that every solution of this equation are either oscillatory or converges to zero. Examples are provided to illustrate the main results.

Oscillation Criteria for Certain Third Order Nonlinear Difference Equations

Some new criteria for the oscillation of all solutions of third order nonlinear difference equations of the form ∆ a(n)(∆ 2 x(n)) α + q(n)f (x[g(n)]) = 0 and ∆ a(n)(∆ 2 x(n)) α = q(n)f (x[g(n)]) + p(n)h(x[σ(n)]) with ∞ a −1/α (n) < ∞ are established.

q-Karamata functions and second order q-difference equations

In this paper we introduce and study q-rapidly varying functions on the lattice q0 := {qk : k ∈ N0}, q > 1, which naturally extend the recently established concept of q-regularly varying functions. These types of functions together form the class of the so-called q-Karamata functions. The theory of q-Karamata functions is then applied to half-linear q-difference equations to get information abo...
